Well, Justin & I met (as fate would have it) in a photography class where we discovered we had a two mutual loves - photography and each other - and we've been together ever since. Some of our first dates were just going out to shoot, an activity we enjoy still. We became engaged on February 27, 2008 (married on April 18, 2009) and soon after, we decided to share our love of photography with others and started Shimer Photography. Seeing that we both began with film, we thought it only right that we continue using our favorite medium. We also love to experiment. Any process that crosses our path must be tried and curiosity soon turns into techniques we offer on all of our work. We believe in treating each session as if these pictures were our own and we pride ourselves on offering a truly unique touch with our alternative processes and toy cameras we have amassed. The digital age has entered into our style as well, but we make sure that each image has the same beauty and lustre as our film shots. We don't just show up and take photos, but transform images of you into works of art. We love what we do and we hope that we can share that love with you at your next occasion.
